Nothing exciting, but an Escort Wagon. Manual, too, in dark green. Never even seen an Escort in this area, nothing exciting really happens here.

Be careful when you say that. The Vespa Woman might hear you...

The most exciting car in my town is a Porsche Boxster or a LR4. So yeah, it doesn’t take much. But I love old wagons, and the Escort has always been a favorite of mine.

Holy shit... if mine hadnt been cut in half id swear that’s the same car! My folks bought one for $1200 & we had it for nearly a decade... I learned how to drive stick in it & I always got stuck driving it whenever my parents needed my truck (which was a lot).
‘93 with a 1.9L/ 5-speed & no tach. It didnt have enough power to maintain 65-70 with the A/C or defroster on. It fell on it’s face if you short shifted into 2nd gear & had less rear leg room then a 911... But you can fit 4 bales of hay inside it with the rear seats folded down... or a twin sized mattress in the back! (ask high school me how I figured that out! :D)
I miss my K10 a lot & still want it back but I had a lot of fond memories in this too...
It was a pretty terrible car but with 14 inch pizza cutters & the weight & long wheel base it was a a lot of fun to drive in the snow or dirt... rip that E-brake & it would throw itself into a snowy corner just like an S13. I treated it like a rally car & im probably the reason it needed new rear struts & a clutch 2 years after I started driving...
Pass. side headlight had a bad ground... never fixed it.. Turn the lights on/ get out/ kick the bumper/ fixed!/hit the road/ repeat for 3 years
Chased my dad through the garage (ala Simpson’s intro) when my mom left it in first gear & I went to start it.... (always check that it’s in neutral kids!)
Also learned how to bump start it in 2nd when it developed a power draw and left me stranded at college one weekend after class
After like 80,000 miles of poor maintence the water pump sized and it blew a headgasket... I wanted to give it a proper “viking funeral” and derby it but my dad needed the cash & scrapped it for $185
We had it so long he lost the title & had me cut it in half to try & scrap it (Dont do this... I almost got arrested)... Also if you are going to do this make sure you strap the bottom half of your car down before you cut it all the way through or it will fling up into the air & bounce off your garage (if it hadnt hit the garage it would have fallen off the trailer) I will try to find a picture of it on the trailer!
I bet you were not expecting a novel of nostalgia on this post... but this car was in my life longer then any other vehicle in my family! I grew up in this... from 6th grade to Sophmore year of college it was in my driveway
